I’m always picking up the odd pinecone while I’m out walking in the woods, so by the time the snow flies, I usually have a basketful at home by the fireplace. (Don’t worry, it’s fake.)
I was sipping the most incredible Peppermint Mocha Espresso Martini the other night (no espresso machine required), and looking at my basket of pinecones when I noticed how similar the bottom looks to a sunflower.
A couple of hours and one empty martini glass later…
